Our Core Values

Our Program is centred around five core values that aim to instil lasting change through different avenues crucial for long-term recovery. Every activity, group session or task is imbued with a dynamic interaction of each value, creating a fluid environment for any young individual to digest at a steady pace. With the support and direction from our team, tangible goals and methods for achieving them will be established using these values as our guiding principles.

Mental Well-Being

Relationships and Social Interactions

Learning how to build and maintain healthy social relationships is a fundamental cornerstone of mental well-being. Being surrounded by like-minded individuals who share similar goals is a significant advantage in fostering well-being due to the many synergistic opportunities that it offers. It is through social relationships that young people are able to hold each other accountable and ensure that their close friends remain on a constructive path.

Life Coaching

Our program aims to establish lasting recovery through active coaching and professional guidance. One of the methods we use to achieve this is by focusing a large part of our resources towards promoting mental well-being and overall happiness within the lodge. This is the primary tenet we hold on to as positive change arises most frequently within a positive mind and environment.

Personal Needs and Boundaries

One of the major milestones demonstrative of permanent change is the reclaiming of the self. Many young people who enter our program begin their journey with a blurred sense of self that restricts them from voicing their personal needs and boundaries. However, the version of themselves with the ability to do this lies somewhere within them, and this is what we seek to reestablish.

Self-Awareness and Self-Care

Going through everyday life with the awareness that you are a free individual who deserves the very best the world has to offer is a blessing that all should share. Although this idea is apparent to many, it can become blurred during times of strife and difficulty, leading to potential self-neglect. At Lions Campus, all our initiatives are tailored to help each fellow regain a newfound sense of self-awareness to help them navigate their journey to recovery.

Maintaining Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual Health

Mental balance and emotional homeostasis are primary themes within our core values. These are instilled through the development of healthy coping methods that will bring the mind to a much-needed balance, allowing ideas surrounding purpose, belonging and faith to enter the fold.

Education & Personal Growth

Academic Goals

Our program ensures that the fellows possess a venue for academic development during their stay at Lions Campus. While personal goals are indispensable for long-term recovery, the presence of adjacent academic goals will be the hammer on the nail to set this path of positive change in stone. During their time at Lions Campus, each fellow will be ascribed a personal education consultant to assist them in forging an academic path for themselves.

Exploration of Passions

At Lions Campus, we work under the premise that passions drive mental well-being, personal development and create a ‘zest’ for life that will stay with them indefinitely. Moreover, we do not believe that there is a one-size fits all model, so we have developed a productive environment with enough space for young people to reflect, identity and chase their overarching passions.

Cultural events and Excursions

Cultural events and excursions are an excellent opportunity for the fellows to dip their toes into a rich learning environment that will ease them into reintegrating the challenges of everyday life. Each excursion allows them to put what they have learnt into action within a dynamic environment that will offer them healthy challenges to overcome.

Career Path Planning

Mental well-being, personal growth and academic development can be hampered by gruelling job searches and interviews. The goal is for each skill to be seamless and overlap with the other in order for them to work to your advantage. At Lions Campus, we aim to support the fellows in finding a professional path by advising, supporting and, most importantly, giving them space to make natural mistakes from which they will glean valuable information during their professional journey.

Skills, Interests, and Hobbies

Where unhealthy habits were previously present, at Lions Campus, we aim to replace this space with healthy alternatives by providing the opportunity to develop and nurture new skills and interests.

Healthy Living

Multiple Weekly Exercise

A healthy body equates to a healthy mind, and provides an effective physical framework for the important mental and emotional processes to thrive. Through regular exercise, many troubles related to physical inactivity begin to subside, and a new clarity will emerge, giving space for constructive decisions to be made.

Adventure Outings

Novelty, fun and camaraderie are all vital components to healthy living, and we believe that adventure outings are an amazing outlet to foster these critical elements. Whether through museum visits, escape rooms or other adventures, these outings are an excellent vehicle for creating a sense of collective enjoyment.

Personal safety

The fellows’ safety is the number one priority here at Lions Campus. The premises is supervised 24/7 for security by our trusted staff and trained recovery assistants who hold safety above all else.

Nutrition

Nutrition and dietary health are fundamental elements needed to ensure that the body and mind have a healthy groundwork fuelled by nutrient-dense foods. It will also support the replenishment of any deficiencies that may have been caused by an unbalanced diet, fuelling the mind and allowing it to work efficiently.

Technology Awareness and Use

Nowadays, the risks surrounding the use of technology and social media are increasing steadily, and young people are the most exposed to it. Balance and mindful awareness are needed in order to keep the mind grounded and free from perpetual digital distractions. To achieve this, we have created a technologically aware environment where fellows can understand digital technology’s various perks as well as risks.

Social Integration & Community Involvement

Group activities

“If you want to go fast, you go alone. But if you want to go far, you do it in a group”. This is one of the tenets we preach at Lions Campus because, at the end of the day, the fellows are here to recover and grow together in a group. Ultimately, a rich learning environment is developed through group activities where the fellows can guide, direct and question each other towards to right path.

Lodge Responsibilities

The lodge is a large residence where each fellow has their own part to play within it. Whether it is through cleaning their rooms, putting away the dishes or cleaning art materials, the goal is to instil a sense of personal responsibility and discipline within their daily lives. This is done under the premise that the discipline needed to complete this will expand towards all areas of life and into critical domains such as education and personal functioning.

Volunteering and Service

During their stay, the fellows are encouraged to volunteer or take up service positions when they attend meetings or gatherings. Helping others unconditionally is also a pathway towards helping oneself, and offering services and assistance through this act is a crucial factor for becoming involved within the community.

Healthy Socialisation

Social relationships are a double-edged sword, and in the context of many of our fellows, they have often been a driver of negativity. However, there is a flip side to social relationships, where healthy relationships can have a disproportionately positive impact on our fellows and their path to recovery. We leverage this by imparting each fellow healthy methods of socialising and bringing others into their personal lives.

Safe Dating Skills

When people are young, they begin to navigate the dating environment, where many fall prey to destabilising events which have the potential to damage any important progress. Often, when young teens begin to date, parents or carers write this off as insignificant experiences which will not amount to much moving forward. However, this is precisely when young people require guidance and awareness of the various pitfalls that occur in dating.

Life Skills & Development

Time Management

Constructive life skills and a healthy form of living thrive within a rigorous self-imposed structure. At Lions Campus, we have created a daily routine that mimics the structure of educational settings and prompts each fellow to take personal responsibility for their time management.

Financial

Our program includes a life coach that guides each fellow in a personalised manner and teaches financial concepts such as saving, budgeting and spending to create a much-needed awareness of financial functioning.

Cooking

The act of sourcing groceries, preparing them in the kitchen and creating a meal that will sustain yourself and your peers is an invaluable life skill that all fellows are taught at Lions Campus. On a deeper level, we believe that cooking provides a holistic vehicle for creating and giving back to oneself, significantly benefiting recovery and well-being.

Organisation

Organisation is a broad term that encapsulates all areas relevant to recovery and positive change. Organisation promotes sleep, productivity, efficiency and socialisation, making it a primary facet of positive development. The entire program here at Lions Campus is oriented toward creating an organised environment that can be translated into the fellows’ personal lives.
